The capital of the United Kingdom, with a population of over 8.5 million, is a city where it is impossible to get bored. Tower Bridge: London's most famous bridge

This is undoubtedly one of London's most recognizable landmarks - it appears on most postcards and is one of London's most visited landmarks - just after Big Ben. Tower Bridge, built in the Victorian style in the 19th century, connects the two banks of the Thames on London's east bank.

A distinctive feature of the bridge are two towers connected at the top by piers, suspended 34 meters above the roadway - which serve as a footbridge for pedestrians. Tower Bridge looks beautiful at night, when its lights are reflected in the waters of the river. 

London Eye: the "devil's" ride

The Ferris wheel or Millennium Wheel, as the London Eye is referred to, is one of the symbols of the city. The famous attraction opened in 1999 - since then it has enjoyed enduring popularity. A ride on the 135-meter tall wheel takes about half an hour.

The low linear speed of these cabs allows passengers to be picked up and dropped off without stopping the wheel. During the ride on the "Ferris wheel" you can admire London from a completely different perspective. It is mandatory to take souvenir photos from the top!

Notting Hill: the film district of London

An extremely colorful and "affluent" district of London. This is where you'll find high-end restaurants and brand-name chain stores. One of Notting Hill's most popular streets is Portobello Road with its quaint little stores. This is also where a street market is held every weekend with stalls full of antiques - you can buy almost anything here. 

The place gained worldwide fame with the Hollywood production of "Notting Hill" starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. But that's not all. It is in this neighborhood that the Notting Hill Carnival, a loud and colorful Caribbean-style street parade that attracts crowds of tourists, takes place every August.

Palace of Westminster

The historic, neo-Gothic Palace of Westminster is actually one of the most important Anglican churches. It is here, since 1066, that British kings have been crowned. According to legends, a temple to the god Apollo existed on the site of the current palace in Roman times.

This majestic structure, consisting of three wings, has served as the site of the UK Parliament since the 13th century. Undoubtedly, the most distinctive feature of the building is the Elizabeth Tower, also known as Big Ben. On the opposite side of the palace rises the Victoria Tower with the top forming the highest point of the entire complex. It is worth knowing that while visiting the palace, you cannot wear hats or caps and it is forbidden to keep your hands in your pockets.
