What do I need to do before travel to London in 2022 during the Covid-19 pandemic?

Have you ever thought about entering England, only to find yourself a little flummoxed by the Covid testing rules? If this is something you have been experiencing, then today, we’re briefly outlining how to complete a Covid test in the UK and the current covid rules when entering England to make your travels a little easier.

The Current Covid Rules When Entering England

If you have been looking to enter England, it can be difficult to keep up with the rules. Fortunately, though, we’ve briefly outlined the current Covid rules when entering England from non-red list countries to hopefully make this a little easier.

Entering England as a Vaccinated Individual

First of all, let’s consider the rules for vaccinated individuals. If you are fully vaccinated, entering the UK is fortunately much more straightforward, and you do not need to take any COVID-19 travel tests before you travel to England or after you arrive.

Instead, you simply need to

  1. Prove that you are fully vaccinated, such as with an NHS-approved Covid pass, an EU Covid Certificate, a CDC Vaccination Report Card and a green card of US residency, and the like.

  2. 48 hours before travelling to England you must complete a passenger locator form.

The best news is if you are vaccinated you also do not need to quarantine when you arrive in England.

Entering England Without a Vaccine Passport

If you are not vaccinated, entering London may be a little trickier. Before you travel to England you must:

  1.  You’ll need to complete a passenger locator form and will need to complete a Covid test within two days before traveling.

  2. Take a COVID-19 test – have to be taken in the 2 days before you travel to England

  3. Book and pay for a COVID-19 PCR test – to be taken after you arrive in England. After completing tests, you should provide a copy of your negative test certificate when boarding and when entering to the England.

  4. You will need to enter your PCR test booking reference number in the passenger locator form.

What If you will not Complete a Covid Test?

If you will not complete a Covid test in England, you’ll need to self-isolate for fourteen days before you can begin heading out. Meanwhile, if you take a Covid test but the results come back positive, you’ll need to self isolate for ten days.

These rules are strict and cannot be broken for the sake of those around you. However, you may be able to leave for a very limited number of reasons, such as urgent medical help.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been looking to enter the England, the exact rules you’ll need to follow will vary depending on your country of origin, your vaccination status, and the current rules at the time (as these are regularly changing). Still, we can’t wait to meet you in London for your next London photoshoot, and we wish you all the best with entering the country!

Please note the rules change very often and the best way is follow the government website here
